With Professor Ross Garnaut's release of the Final Report of his Climate Change Review on September 30, 2008 the Rudd Government now has a recommendation of a 5% emissions reduction target by 2020 leading to a 60% reduction by 2050. The consequences of this will be significant increases in electricity and associated costs for property owners and occupiers. These cost increases have come about in a situation of strong public support for environmental management aimed at reducing greenhouse gasses and our adverse environmental impact.
